NAIROBI and LOS ANGELES (October 15, 2012) – Buni TV (www.buni.tv), the video steaming platform for high-quality African content, announced today that it had attracted more than 200,000 unique visitors since it launched 6 months ago in April. The web and mobile site also received close to 700,000 views during that period.
“We are very excited by these numbers,” said Buni TV Founder and CEO Marie Lora-Mungai, “especially since more than half of this traffic came from Kenya only. This not only tells us that Kenyan and African audiences are indeed ready to discover video content online, but also that Buni TV has a huge potential for growth in other countries in Africa and beyond.”
During these first 6 months, the Buni TV team focused on building its catalog of content, licensing original videos from a dozen filmmakers from across the continent. Content producers are invited to submit their work for distribution on Buni TV at content@buni.tv.
